Temple Challenge
Temple Challenge changed my life, so it’s only fair that One Nine Design brought the Temple Challenge website to an online home that combines relatable copywriting with reliable program information and easy-to-navigate menus for anyone looking to improve their health.
The TC website has gone through many iterations, evolving as the program has over the past seven years since I first created it. (The program started in 2014.) Stacy Houser, TC Founder, invested a great deal of time and financial resources into her first website. It looked great, but ultimately, it wasn’t aligned with her mission, and the copywriting felt stiff and corporate.
After experiencing the program firsthand, it was a breeze to write website copy that would relate to anyone looking for help finding a fitness journey that was more about lifestyle than about weight loss.
What started as a simple website detailing the program and class times has evolved into much more. The website now includes a blog, advanced commerce functionality, private content for personal training participants, and membership content behind a paywall.

Relatable copywriting
You won’t get bogged down into boring or generic text when visiting the TC website.
Here are a few fun lines you’ll read that instantly help visitors see themselves as a TC participant.
We’re ready to help you meet your biggest goals (even the ones you’re scared to say out loud.)
You must be tired of the roller-coaster of quick fixes, diets that promise overnight results, or plans that cost thousands of dollars with no real science behind them.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
Redefine what it means to be your best self.
This is your time. Whatever you’ve told yourself about getting healthy, getting strong, or just getting started – it’s time to rethink everything.
Taking that first step is the hardest, but you can do hard things. This is your time.
Worried someone will notice you’re new? Trust us - no one is looking at you. We’re all trying to catch our breath and keep moving, too!
Did she say skullcrusher? Burpee? Dead bug? (Don’t run away. The fitness language is weird.)
No worries. All the moves are demonstrated and you can modify them any time you’d like. The only rule is that you keep moving if you can.
Clear navigation
The website layout works just as hard as the copy on this site. Since TC offers in-person and online programs, visitors must understand their options. The site menu is organized by in-person and online programs and offers a Results tab where visitors can see services related to the end result of their work.
Most pages are relatively brief, broken up into short sections for those who like to skim, but long enough to ensure the pages rank well on Google.
The online commerce section is straightforward, with a Store page showcasing all the online options.
Optimized for Custom Site Goals with E-commerce functionality
The ultimate goal of the TC website is for visitors to understand the program and know how to get started. It’s not optimized for immediate conversion because it can often take multiple site visits for someone to commit and decide to take control of their health. The website clarifies where to find an in-person class, offers low-risk entry points for free workouts and low-cost, one-time online workouts, and provides a way to reach out for questions.
With thousands of visitors every month, an average site visit of over three minutes, and a blog post from 2020 that continues to drive thousands of people to the site from all over the world, the TC website is an excellent example of a functional and attractive website design that works.
