Mental Health & Therapy website on Squarespace
Counseling & Wellness Center
If I’m not designing a nonprofit website, working with clients in the mental health and wellness space is where my passion really shines. A firm believer in the power of therapy, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several therapists and therapy practices, ranging from designing websites to running social media accounts and process improvement consulting.
When I first met the owners of the Counseling & Wellness Center, they were looking for someone to simplify their online presence and bring a more professional, cohesive look to their brand that truly reflected the care and expertise they offer their patients. They have two locations and had two websites which were essentially competing against each other in search results and producing a myriad of duplicate content errors.
Moving the two Counseling & Wellness Center websites from Wix to one website on Squarespace was step one. From there, we identified their primary goals for site and I sought to design a website that was welcoming, informative, and functional and designed to convert. The number one site goal was to encourage visitors to book an appointment, and every element of the site was crafted to guide users smoothly toward that action—from clear call-to-action buttons to an intuitive process of requesting an appointment.
Unique Features
Therapist Directory
The Counseling & Wellness Center has a large staff and wanted to feature their therapists in a way that users could easily find the right match for their needs, with detailed profiles that highlight each therapist's specialties, experience, and approach to care. Using Squarespace’s blog feature and categories/tags, I created a therapist directory that users can filter by location or specialty. Each therapist bio also includes a video bio (with a custom thumbnail to hide the ugly YouTube default) so that users can hear from the therapist before deciding to book an appointment, making the process more personal and engaging.
Informative Blog
Understanding that SEO plays a huge role in potential patients finding the practice online, the Counseling & Wellness Center committed to publishing regular blog posts on the site focusing on relevant mental health topics and local keywords to boost their visibility and attract more targeted traffic. The blogs continue to perform well, regularly ranking on the first three pages of Google and resulting in new appointments.
The Counseling & Wellness Center website has continued to grow over the past few years as the practice expanded to included additional services and to launch a sister company, Family Medicine on Market. Building the website on Squarespace has allowed seamless integration of new features and pages, scalability to accommodate the expanding services, and easy updates to keep the site aligned with their evolving business needs.
With over 5,000 page views per month and nearly 60% of the site traffic driven by search, the Counseling & Wellness Center website continues to outperform local competitors and serve as a key resource for individuals seeking quality mental health support in the community.
It’s mobile friendly design, accessibility features, and warm color palette ensure that visitors have a positive, inclusive experience whether they’re browsing on their phones, tablets, or desktops, creating a welcoming environment that reflects the Center’s commitment to client care.
