Domain FAQ
Your website domain is the address that is typed into a browser to navigate the user to your website. It typically ends in dot org or dot com.
Domain names must be purchased and they are often managed by the same company, but not always.
Popular domain hosts include GoDaddy, Network Solutions, NameCheap, Bluehost, Host Gator, Name.com — just to name a few.
If are not sure where your domain is registered:
Check your past invoices. You are paying for your domain annually, in most cases.
Go to ICANN and search for your domain. You may not be able to see everything you need but most times, you can at least identify the company where the domain was registered.
If you know the company but do not know your login information, you’ll need to contact their customer service department and try to gain access. This can prove to be difficult sometimes so be prepared with any past invoices, proof of your authority with the organization, etc.
